Artist Biography:
Karin Hovey has always enjoyed art. As a child, she began drawing and painting and developed a love of creating images, which has remained a constant throughout her life. “I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the harshness of our world, so I am inspired by beauty found in any shape or form,” says Karin. “Painting helps me to feel some comfort in my own reality and I hope that I can share that feeling with others through my artwork.”
Watercolor is Karin’s medium of choice. “I love the softness of watercolor,” says Karin, “and appreciate how unpredictable and spontaneous watercolor can be.” Karin enjoys painting a variety of subject matter, including flowers and the landscape, but her favorite subject is the sky. “The sky is never static. It is alive with color and movement and moodiness.”
Karin was born in New Hampshire and currently resides in Manchester, New Hampshire. Her work is on display at East Colony Fine Art in Manchester, NH, and is included in many corporate and private collections throughout the country. Karin’s other interest include music, hiking and camping.
