| When choosing an original painting, choose something that appeals to you at first glance. That is how she creates her compositions, which are colored with brilliance and atmosphere providing a sense of serenity. I wish for beautiful places ...to take you there. Growing up Doreen was always interested in art. Taking classes at the Currier Museum Art School, and being creative whenever she could. In 2000, she began pastel painting, and joined art groups to further her interests with art. She was encouraged to sell her works, and began exhibiting in art shows, and won awards. In 2005 she began Oil Painting, studying at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. She creates from the natural world around us, with views throughout N.E., Canada, France and Italy. Some of her works were done on location, and finished in the studio. Plein-Air painting is most enjoyable, to have the light of the day inspire you, for without light there is nothing. Her works are in corporate and private collections throughout the Northeast and Canada.
“The beautiful is in nature, and it is encountered under the most diverse forms of reality. Once it is found it belongs to art, or rather to the artist who discovers it.” Gustave Courbet
