When I create an image, I like to capture a part of my life in which I found peace and belonging. I hope that people viewing my artwork can feel a connection to a peaceful moment in their own lives.”
Artist Biography:
Karin Hovey has always enjoyed art. As a child, she began drawing and painting and developed a love of creating images, which has remained a constant throughout her life. “I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the harshness of our world, so I am inspired by beauty found in any shape or form,” says Karin. “Painting helps me to feel some comfort in my own reality and I hope that I can share that feeling with others through my artwork.”
Watercolor is Karin’s medium of choice. “I love the softness of watercolor,” says Karin “and appreciate how unpredictable and spontaneous watercolor can be.” Karin enjoys painting a variety of subject matter, including flowers and the landscape. Her current works or studies focus on the powerful and ever changing seascape, and the serene and mysterious night sky.
Karin was born in New Hampshire and currently resides in Manchester, New Hampshire. She is a member of the Manchester Artists Association, and has been selected many times as “Artist of the Month”.
Karin’s work is currently on display at East Colony Fine Art in Manchester, NH. Her work is displayed in many corporate or private collections throughout New Hampshire, and was previously displayed at Beaver Brook Fine Art in Pelham, NH. Karin’s other interest include playing the guitar, hiking and camping.
