My recent oil paintings explore organic shapes as dream-like landscapes. Many of these paintings reflect my interest in elusive underwater life forms that float within their environment according to the motion of the sea. Rather than using a palette of blues and cool colors, I instead prefer using warm, bright, saturated hues applied with layering techniques and glazes. Transparent colors of red, yellow and orange give the paintings a luminous quality as though the light comes from within.
