Debra began painting in watercolors while studying with Artist Corey Staid in Andover, Massachusetts as a teenager. She studied with a variety of other artists after moving to California in the late 70's. While attending Las Positas College in Livermore, California, she painted primarily in acrylics , receiving a more structured, formal training, eventually receiving a Degree in Fine Arts, emphasis in painting. Debra was Director of Visual Arts for a program called "FAME" for the Livermore Public School system before moving back to New England. She currently teaches watercolor and multi-media classes at The Currier Museum Art Center in Manchester, NH. And conducts workshops at East Colony Fine Art Gallery and Studios also in Manchester, NH.
The WILDLIFE ART Magazine featured Debra's work in their section titled "Women Making Magic with Unusual Media" highlighting her collages of Confetti Birch Forests
